The Balboa Fun Zone has a long history dating back to 1936. This area can be a bit nostalgic and yet modern. With everything the zone has to offer, so does some great photography opportunities. First and foremost is the giant Ferris Wheel. This has plenty of angles to which to get unique photographs. Shooting from the ground going into the sky, shooting from behind you while high up on the wheel. The creativity in your shots can be endless. And if we are there on the right day, maybe we will see Griffin, the Ferris Wheel Dog.

There are also plenty of activities that we can incorporate into your Balboa Fun Zone engagement photo shoot. Imagine yourselves in the older style Balboa Arcade playing air hockey or pinball. You can rent bikes and ride along the coast and other fun rides. Then of course, eating ice cream cones together or other carnival like foods.

Besides the activities on land, you can also consider water activities. You can rent a boat, go parasailing or even whale watching during certain times of the year. Or we can simply take the ferry over to the Balboa Peninsula and do take more photos there. The peninsula offers a variety of other photo opportunities that the Fun Zone doesn’t offer such as beach, sand and sailboats.
