I had the opportunity recently to shoot a very special engagement photography session in Orange County between two people that exuberated love, David and Lindsey. We shot the engagement session at Yorba Regional Park in Yorba Linda and throughout the session, there was so much laughter. David, without a doubt, is the instigator as he is great at making Lindsey laugh. Like I said, this was a fun shoot.
David and Lindsey are getting married on November 7th at Black Gold Golf Course in Yorba Linda and I wish them all the love and happiness a couple could have.
From David’s Viewpoint….
Q: Tells us about the first date and how you asked Lindsey out.
A: Technically, Lindsey was the one that asked ME out on our first date. We had spoken on the phone once so I wanted to meet her for coffee at Starbucks. Well since we had already got to know each other over the phone, we thought that a full dinner would be an ok first date. She suggested Watson’s Soda Fountain because she happened to have a Groupon for it. We still have a good laugh about that, but it ended up being a great date. We actually just went back there on our 2-year anniversary to re-live that moment and we even wore the same outfits that we had on for our first date as well.
Q: Describe Lindsey in one word, and why did you choose that word?
A: Only one word? But there are so many! Confident, beautiful, thoughtful, kind, determined… but all of these words really stem from one rare characteristic that she possesses in spades that can be summed up simply with the word, “genuine.” Lindsey is perhaps the first person I’ve ever met that is totally and completely genuine about her feelings toward me, her family, her life, and her hopes and dreams. In a world full of people with agendas, where cold calculation governs most of the world’s motivations, Lindsey is truly an oasis.
And so we approach our relationship and future lives in a very confident way because we know the feelings we have for each other come from an honest place and that all those gaps we’ve been looking to fill in our lives are no longer empty because of that.
Q: As you look towards the future with Lindsey, what is one adventure you most look forward to?
A: I’m really looking forward to our two-week honeymoon in Europe. We’re still planning it, but it will likely be sometime next Spring. Lindsey has always wanted to visit Spain and I can’t wait to experience the excitement of watching her check that off her bucket list.
From Lindsey’s Viewpoint….
Q: How did you first meet David? Was it love at first sight? What made you attracted to him?
A: I actually met David on eHarmony. But we didn’t officially meet in person until our first date at Watson’s Soda Fountain in Orange. It was not love at first sight, maybe because, when he first saw me, he pointed the double finger guns at me and said “Lindsey??” Lol. But, he overcame that very dorky gesture with an amazing personality and great conversation. His humor, huge heart, and amazing personality are what I am most attracted to.
Q: Describe David in one word and why that word?
A: Devoted. David works very hard at everything he does. Not only is he devoted to his work, which has made him successful, but he is also devoted to our relationship. He loves hard and he is the most loyal man I know.
Q: How did David propose?
A: David took me to the beach on New Year’s Day for a relaxing day. We stopped at an overlook at Inspiration Point. David was acting very nervous and not himself, saying short statements like, “the ocean is like infinity… like our love.” Then he finally realized that he just needed to get to the point and said, “the ocean isn’t the only reason I brought you here.” He fumbled a little to take the ring box out of his pocket and got down on his knee and asked. I was shocked, I cried and I said, “YES!”
