ABALONE COVE SHORELINE PARK
One of our absolute favorite destinations to shoot engagement photo sessions in Los Angeles County is the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park as it is the perfect location for your engagement photography session. Three16 Photography will capture your intimate Abalone Cove Engagement Photos located in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
There are many reasons we love shooting at this park. One reason is that it doesn’t get too crowded there, which allows us more time from interruptions. But the main reason is mostly due to all unique backdrops that this park has to offer. Although we cannot get too close to it, but off in the background is this amazing lighthouse that photographs so well and gives your photos really nice characteristics. Abalone Cove is also unique for the fact that it hangs off the edge of a cliff, so you can imagine the really great shots we can get with the park and the beach as your background. It gives your photos that beach/park-like feel to them.
Some of the other cool features when shooting your photo session here is that the park is an open space type of park with some trees and a nice wooden ranch-style fence that runs along the cliff’s edge that can give your photos a bit of a rustic look to them.
Besides the lighthouse, other nearby places to consider is the very popular church and wedding venue, Wayfarers Chapel. It’s only a five-minute walk from the park itself. You can also consider Inspiration Point, Portuguese Point and of course just down the hill is the beach itself.
The one thing we would like you to be aware of is to be sure to wear or bring comfortable footwear. Photographing Abalone Cove engagement photos at this location involves going from one end of the park to the other, as well as taking a short hike down to the beach. The hike back up is a bit of a steep hike, but really worth it in the end.
This beach and nature area are reason enough as to why this is just one of favorite beaches in LA County and you will see why once you’re there. If you don’t mind a little hiking, then Abalone Cove is a great place for nature scenery.
