BALBOA ISLAND
One of the reasons we really love shooting Orange County engagement photography is that gives us the chance to really engage ourselves with the couple; to get to know one another better and share stories and some laughs. There are many great places to shoot engagement photos in Orange County, but one of the better locations is Balboa Island. Three16 Photography will capture your intimate Balboa Island Engagement Photos located in Newport Beach, across from the Balboa Fun Zone. The island is filled with beautiful marine backdrops and an amazing atmosphere.
One of the things that makes Balboa Island unique is that not many go there for their engagement photos sessions, which will make your pictures a little rarer. Compared to the other great beaches in Orange County, Balboa is not your typical beach location as it has more of a marine feel to it with sailboats and regular cruising boats that will really enhance the background of your photos.
There is also the Balboa Ferry that can take us over to the Balboa Fun Zone. We can capture some really great photos while crossing over on the ferry as it brings a bit of nostalgia to your photos, as well as that marine area behind you.
Our recommendation for clothing is to go with a more casual attire. Something navy blue or white, maybe even some red. If you are not sure, think the beach or a marine-like feel to it.
After the photo session is over, stick around and enjoy one of the many local and amazing restaurants that are on the island. If you do nothing else, be sure to enjoy two of Balboa Island’s most iconic desserts, the Frozen Banana and the Balboa Bar. They have been part of the culture in Balboa for over 75 years.
