Your outfit should reflect you personality.  Maybe you want to dress for an adventure or maybe you want to go formal.  Consider how your attire can fit with your session location.

Some locations can be super crowded.  While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature?  Did you go to a fair on your first date?  While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION LOCATION:

GUM GROVE PARK

When considering locations for your engagement photo session make sure you do your research or listen to the advice of your photographer. We have been to locations where from the outside the place looks like a great location, only to find out once you are inside, not so much. And vice versa, where you question the outside, but once you get in a whole new world opens up. Definitely don’t always judge a book by its cover. Although small compared to other nature parks, Gum Grove Park is a location you have to go inside to appreciate what it has to offer. Gum Grove Park in Seal Beach makes for a great engagement location for Three16 Photography to capture your memories that will last a lifetime.

Gum Grove Park sits along the edge of the Los Cerritos Wetlands on about 10 acres of land. When you arrive, on one side of you are homes that are backed up to the park and the trail, while on the right you see open wetlands, often dry looking, and a little more of that industrial feel to it. That said, once you start down the 2.1-mile trail, especially in the springtime, you are greeted by some really pretty flowers and a slew of monarch butterflies, while the middle of the park has some eucalyptus trees. There is plenty of shade along this trail as well.

Although we enjoy the inner beauty of Gum Grove Park, if time permits, we recommend this location as a second stop to get additional photos and especially if your main photo shoot is something other than a naturesque setting, say the Seal Beach or the Seal Beach Pier.

Some locations are subject to permit and/or travel fees.
