Some locations can be super crowded. While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature? Did you go to a fair on your first date? While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

As seasons shift so does temperature, sunset times, foliage and crowds. Not all locations are a great choice year round.

If you are not already familiar with it, Pelican Cove Park is a hidden gem of a location for anyone that loves beauty, nature, or even the quiet time away from the noises that comes with the cities. As a location for your engagement session, it is full of spectacular backdrops. Pelican Cove Park Engagement Photos in Ranchos Palos Verdes by Three16 Photography will leave you lasting memories of your special moment together.
Pelican Cove Park sits on a 10.5-acre location that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The park itself doesn’t necessarily offer a lot in terms of your photos but go along the edge for views of the beach area, which by the way is about 200 feet down. But again, backdrops of the ocean, especially at sunset when the sun hits the water will cause your engagement photos to truly pop.
When you look over the cliff, the cove is a half-moon shape with beautiful sapphire-colored waters. There is a trail that we can hike down to the waters. It takes close to 15 minutes and zigs and zags back and forth, but the view from the bottom is so very much worth it.
Once we are down on the bottom, the “beach” is covered in loose, yet smooth, rocks. Standing on the rocks in your photos makes for a pretty cool affect, but if you want to walk down aways, it can be difficult. There is an area closer to the cliff that’s easier to walk, and if we keep walking, we will come across the small tide pools area.
One other unique backdrop to your photos is about a half mile away to the west where you will find the Point Vicente Lighthouse. The lighthouse, which overlooks the peninsula, can be a great backdrop in your photos from Pelican Cove Park, but if time permits, we can drive over to the it and take some additional photos up close.
So, if you are looking for a location that has a little of everything for your engagement photos, then you might want to consider Pelican Cove Park.
