We have found over the years that many of our wonderful couples, in which we have had the opportunity to photograph their engagement sessions, have a love for nature and want to personify that in their photos. We’ve been all over Southern California to make this event special for them. But we always seem to find that the best locations to capture nature at its finest when photographing engagements is right here in Orange County. And the city of Irvine is no stranger to natural beauty. Quail Hill engagement photos in Irvine makes for a great nature engagement location for Three16 Photography to capture your memories.

Quail Hill is located on Shady Canyon about a half mile south of the 405 freeway, so getting there is extremely easy. The dirt path trail is approximately two miles in length that loops around and gives you amazing views of the Irvine and Saddleback areas. Keep in mind as we stop at various spots to shoot your photos that this location is an active habitat restoration area, so we do need to stay on the trails.

We have also found that the best time of the year to shoot here is in the springtime after the local rains have allowed all the wildflowers to bloom and bring true beauty to your shots. There is a small area near the entrance that has a nice little cobblestone planter that you can sit on with some tree coverage and plants, but once we are in the trail this location does not offer too much for shade with an occasional spot here and there. So, if this location is for you, going early in the morning or closer to sunset may be our best bet.
