Some locations can be super crowded. While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature? Did you go to a fair on your first date? While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

As seasons shift so does temperature, sunset times, foliage and crowds. Not all locations are a great choice year round.

Being an engagement photographer throughout San Diego County allows us so many great opportunities to photograph at some of the more beautiful and distinctive locations around. There’s the coastline, attractions, restaurants, downtown San Diego, the countryside of the county, and so much more. But one of the more unique locations that is often overlooked is the campus of UC San Diego. UC San Diego engagements photographed by the team at Three16 Photography will add a new dimension to your photo session that you will cherish forever.
We love photographing at UC San Diego because you have the unique architecture on the campus itself, but also the rural area with beautiful nature all around you. The possibilities are endless with how much this location offers in term of beautiful backdrops that will allow your photos to truly standout.
The campus itself has much to offer. If you are talking about UC San Diego and unique photo opportunities, you cannot be serious if you don’t include the Geisel Library. The Geisel Library turned 50 years old in the Fall of 2020 and takes on a futuristic design and is one of the most well-known buildings in San Diego. In addition to the Geisel Library, UC San Diego also offers Price Center, and a variety of unique architecture on their buildings. In addition, there are plenty of areas on campus for a naturesque looks to your photos with a variety of trees and plants.
If time permits and you want to really include nature, we suggest leaving the main part of the campus as UC San Diego has its own nature center if you will, the Natural Reserve System. These different areas range from about 20 to 45 minutes away in different directions, but the beauty of pure nature is astounding.
