AnQi Wedding by House of An in Costa Mesa California Minh & LeAnn
Minh and LeAnn’s love story started online, and was a match made in Heaven! Although the first date was almost a disaster, they made the most of it and went to an outdoor food festival and ended up having a blast! Even from that very first date, Minh knew that LeAnn was special! He ended up saving the food festival tickets, and three years later, showed them to LeAnn when he proposed! The proposal was also almost a disaster, too. But Minh managed to keep things cool and work around some unexpected surprises. Of course LeAnn said yes, and they began planning their elegant AnQi Wedding!
Although the venues that Minh and LeAnn chose for their wedding were absolutely gorgeous, LeAnn and Minh were definitely the ones that stole the show! LeAnn was an absolutely stunning bride! She wore her hair tucked back in a perfectly curled bridal updo by the Luong Lasting Team, and it was the perfect styling to show off her gown from BHLDN. As Minh awaited his soon-to-be-bride at the end of the aisle, he was looking very dapper in a dark tux from Giorgio Armani. With their amazing bridal party squad by their side, it was time to tie the knot!
After saying “I do”, it was party time! AnQi is a gorgeous wedding venue in Costa Mesa, California, and was an amazing wedding reception venue to host the party of the year! They have an awesome runway that was perfect for the best grand entrance ever. The carolina blue, white, silver, and blush pink color palette of their day was the perfect combo for an elegant wedding celebration, and Chana Designs did an excellent job bringing everything together so nicely.
We loved getting to celebrate with Minh and LeAnn, and capturing their love on camera! We can’t wait for all the future adventures these two have in store! We hope you enjoy reading their love story.
1) How did you both meet? Who liked who first?
We met online on Match.com. Minh saw LeAnn’s profile first and thought she was pretty adorable so sent a message to say hi. The first date was almost a disaster- the entire city block of the restaurant lost power! But, we found a cool outdoor food festival to walk around and eat at, and the night ended with Minh sneaking in a kiss! Three years later, Minh proposed to LeAnn and showed her the leftover food festival tickets he had kept from the night- he knew from the start that she was special, and that she was always the one.
2) What’s the proposal story? Give us all the details! Who cried first?
Minh planned a weekend getaway at Malibu for wine tasting. Again, almost a disaster, as we had to run back home midway through the weekend due to a surprise visit from relatives from Australia (who also almost ruined the surprise, as LeAnn’s dad had told them that Minh was about to propose). Luckily, the surprise was kept and disaster averted and Minh proposed to LeAnn on a cliffside. Minh pulled out the food tickets he had saved from the first dates, and told LeAnn that she was the one, went down on one knee (for way too short of a time, per LeAnn), and popped the question.
3) As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?
Spending time with each other, family and friends to plan our special day!
4) What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?
Juggling everything as the last month counts down…it seems like there is still too much to do! Making sure nothing and nobody is missed.
5) Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?
We wanted to pick a place that was a call back to our heritage and background, but still was modern and classy. We wanted to make sure our family and our newer friends felt comfortable and welcomed. And, we wanted to prioritize abundant and good food!
6) Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?
Friends and family were always an inspiration. We tried to keep an open mind of others’ experiences. Also, Megan Markle was a big inspiration for LeAnn, haha.
7) Where are you going for the honeymoon? Are you excited? Why did you choose that destination?
We wanted to explore some of the more off the beaten path parts of Italy. LeAnn also loves Cinque Terre and is dying to show Minh around!
