Black Gold Golf Club Wedding | Adam & Chelsea

Wow! Chelsea and Adam were so much fun to work with, and their wedding yesterday was absolutely amazing! We had a blast shooting their big day at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda, California!

First off, these two are absolute STUNNERS! They made ‘elegant’ look effortless. Chelsea’s dress from Simply Bridal was so gorgeous! With a delicate and intricate lace top flowing perfectly into trickling layers of the train of her gown, she had heads turning all day. On top of a flawless bridal gown, her look was complete with makeup done by Flawless Faces and a graceful and elegant ‘do by The Young American Salon. As a final accessory for the bride, Flower Allie did her magic and crafted a beautiful blooming bouquet of white florals and lush greenery. Chelsea was ready to walk down the aisle and marry the love of her life!

Adam awaited his bride with his groomsmen by his side, dressed in a blue Calvin Klein suit. The ceremony was set outside in front of an altar blooming with lush greenery, and the sun came out for these two to say “I do!” It was such a perfect setting.

After the gorgeous outdoor ceremony, it was time to celebrate the newlyweds! Soundwave Productions got the party started and the dance floor was filled for hours! It’s easy to capture open dancing during the reception when everyone is out on the floor!

We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to shoot Chelsea and Adam’s wedding at the Black Gold Golf Club, and we can’t wait for all the amazing adventures ahead for these two! We wish you all the best, and we hope you have an amazing time in Bali and the Maldives!

1) How did you both meet? Who liked who first?

We met playing on a co-ed adult kickball league in Irvine. Adam had his shirt cut down to nothing with his chesticles showing and barely a thread holding it on over his shoulders. I wanted to run and hide hoping what I was seeing was an illusion, but little did I know I was looking at my future husband. It was apparent that he liked me first when we were hanging out at our friend’s place and he continued to toss mini ping pong balls in my cup while we were sitting and chatting with a group of friends.

2) Tell us about your first date. Who was more nervous? What did you guys do?

We go back and forth on what our first date was since we only hung out in groups for the first few weeks, but we decided it was at Filomena’s Italian restaurant in Costa Mesa. No nerves on either end by this point.

3) What’s the proposal story? Give us all the details! Who cried first?

We were snowboarding in Mammoth with some friends. Toward the end of the day, they wanted to take the Gondola to the top of the mountain so we could get a group photo. We ended up being the last gondola that they let up the mountain because some of our friends took a little longer to meet at the lodge. When we got up there we all got together and took our photo and then Adam and I were going to take a photo together with the mountains in the background. This was nothing out of the ordinary because we had done this on our previous boarding trips as well. All of our friends were lined up and I notice they all have their phones out and 1 has a camera. I still was oblivious just thinking the view was really that great – after all, it was a bluebird day. They take the picture of us, then the next thing I know he is on one knee, ring in hand, and the words start flowing. I am an instant blubber ball just sobbing trying to listen to what he’s saying, but in complete shock that it was really happening. I eventually thought “maybe I should take my goggles off” so I pull them up and continue to cry. Adam’s hands are going numb since it was –5 degrees up there so we hurried up took some photos, put the ring back in the box, and rode down the mountain to celebrate!

4) As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?

Spending time with each other.

5) What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?

Keeping everything organized and figuring out the details that we didn’t know or realize we needed.

6) Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?

It has beautiful scenery for the ceremony site and offers a ton with the reception.

7) Where did you draw some of your inspiration for your wedding day?

Pinterest! I’m not a super elegant or fancy girl so I wanted a more rustic relaxed vibe for the wedding and Pinterest had endless options.

8) Where are you going for your honeymoon? Why did you choose that destination?

Bali and the Maldives. We are beyond excited to visit different countries and cultures (and play with the monkeys). Adam has always wanted to visit those places and I’m more than happy to tag along on a trip that I don’t have to plan!
