El Adobe de Capistrano Wedding Photography | Kevin & Brittany

Kevin and Brittany of course! Being an Orange County Wedding Photographer I work with many incredible couples, but Kevin and Brittany are possibly two of the kindest, sweetest people I have ever met. I loved sitting back and really taking in these two. Kevin is super close with his friends and really shows that he cares for those around him, while Brittany often laughed at the things Kevin was saying; her giggle is just, well…. adorable and I absolutely loved their El Adobe de Capistrano Wedding!

We shot their first look at the Mission in San Juan Capistrano which is always perfect and picturesque for a photoshoot. A first look is when the couple elects to shoot some photos in full wedding attire before the ceremony. Obviously, you can’t be superstitious or steeped in tradition to do a first look, but it saves a lot of time between the ceremony and the reception. So during their first look, they both wiped away tears as they smiled and embraced each other. The moment was really magical. I think it was the atmosphere that the Mission brings.

Their wedding took place just a short walk away from the Mission at El Adobe de Capistrano. The staffs at both locations were just amazing with us. So much so, we would love to go back there. Incredible, lovely venues and perhaps my favorite place to shoot.

All best to Kevin and Brittany, cheers!

Brittany and Kevin’s Love Story

Brittany’s Perspective….
Q:           What did you enjoy most about wedding planning?

A:            I enjoyed the process of watching everything fall into place.  The first piece of the puzzle was finding our venue; we were so excited about that!  After that, everything was easier.

Q:           How has planning your wedding grown you both closer together?

A:         We made decisions together to ensure that all aspects of the wedding are a reflection of both of us.  Seeking each others’ opinions on different things got us to talk a lot, thus bringing us closer together.

Q:        What is something new you have learned about Kevin during this time?

A:         That he has a good head on his shoulders and keeps calm in stressful situations.  He helps to calm me down when I get stressed, which happened a good amount during this process.

Q:        What are you most looking forward to on the wedding day?

A:         Being done with wedding planning!  And getting married to my best friend.

Q:        Describe Kevin in three words?

A:         Smart, loving and driven.

Q:        How did Kevin Propose?  What’s the story and were you surprised?

A:         Kevin came home to Illinois with me for Christmas after we were dating long-distance for a few months.  As a Christmas present, my mother had gotten us a hotel room and a gift card to a local restaurant for a nice dinner.  Before we went out, my mom emphasized the fact that she wanted us to call her later, making me think something was going on.  We went to dinner, then back to the hotel afterward.  When we got into our room, there were chocolate-covered strawberries and sparkling wine waiting for us.  Then Kevin gave me a hug, said that he loved me, and got down on one knee to ask me to marry him.  He had the ring in his pocket all night!  He originally thought about asking me at the restaurant but changed his mind at the last minute.  Of course, I said yes, and we proceeded to call our families about it.

Q:           What’s something that stood out to you about Brittany during the planning process?

A:            She’s very cautious about our wedding budget.  She helps keep things in check so we don’t go overboard.

Q:           How did you first meet Brittany?

A:            We first met in April 2010 when she visited CSUF as a consultant for our fraternity.  She definitely caught my eye!  We stayed in contact over the years and finally saw each other again at a fraternity conference in Seattle back in August of 2013.
