Tucked away in the hills of Los Angeles is a location that unless you knew of it, you may not have known existed. Well, unless you are a true movie and television buff that is. Built back in 1928, the Greystone Mansion is well known for its elegance and amazing architectural design. The outdoors is just as remarkable. The Greystone Mansion is 46,000 square feet of pure beauty. The outdoors features walking paths that will take us through a variety of foliage and green trees, a beautiful spiral staircase, a reflection pool, as well as some unique walking stones in lieu of just regular cement in some of the walking areas. You will feel as though you are walking through a castle’s courtyard. And with that, the background shots are sure to highlight your engagement photographs.

Although we are limited to the outdoors, the interior at the Greystone Mansion is definitely a true spectacle to see. In fact, if you have seen the movie, “The Bodyguard” with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, Whitney’s character’s home scenes were shot inside the Greystone Mansion, as well as in the movie, “The Big Lebowski.”

Located just off Sunset Blvd, the Greystone Mansion is about a mile west of what many consider the west end of Hollywood as you pass the Whiskey A Go-Go and head towards the strip. If time permits, we can consider other locations in the area such as all the features of Hollywood, West LA, The Arts District or just a couple miles south is Rodeo Drive.

I will tell you that engagement photography at the Greystone Mansion does require a permit and they have tight restrictions. Permits cannot be obtained prior to two weeks before the date of your shoot and is limited to six people, which includes the photographer in the event you thought of including any family or your best man and maid of honor.
