Your outfit should reflect you personality.  Maybe you want to dress for an adventure or maybe you want to go formal.  Consider how your attire can fit with your session location.

Some locations can be super crowded.  While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature?  Did you go to a fair on your first date?  While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION LOCATION:

discovering los Angeles county engagement locations:

GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY

For somewhere truly unique for your engagement photography session, visit the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. Griffith Observatory engagement Photos by Three16 Photography will add some truly unique perspectives to your Los Angeles engagement photo session. It is one of our absolute favorite locations to shoot engagement photography in Los Angeles. Some might say that it’s out of this world!

The very well-known Griffith Observatory opened to the public back in 1935 and has been featured in many films and television shows over the years. The observatory has some truly epic telescopes that will allow you to see things you have never imagined.

If you opt for a Griffith Observatory engagement photo shoot, we recommend going closer to sunset time. The skies are amazingly beautiful from the sunset as it comes off the Pacific Ocean and lays itself down across the Los Angeles basin. The sunset will really allow your photos to pop. Also, this will allow us time until the sun goes down to take some very scenic photos with the LA skyline in the background that will offer truly great personality to your pictures.

A couple of things to be aware of when it comes to the Griffith Observatory. Because it is open to the public, they get very large crowds pretty much every day of the week. That said, weekdays would still be your best bet because, although you will have crowds, it is nothing like what you would get on the weekends. Due to the heavy traffic of people, we cannot guarantee that there will be photos without people walking through the background. If we can get a few shots in without them, that would be really great. Also, be aware that they do not allow for pets and parking is not free.

Other locations that are nearby to the observatory that you can also consider would include The Greek Theater, the Los Angeles Zoo and Griffith Park.

The Griffith Observatory is a really great choice for your engagement photography session. If, however, you choose not to use this location for your shoot, we highly recommend going and take in the experience there. Great place for date night too.
