Who would have thought as the Summer of 2020 came to an end, we would still be somewhat shutdown due to the Covid-19 Pandemic? Not me. And I’m sure many couples looking to have their weddings didn’t think so as well. But it did. That being said, there were some couples that just forged ahead as nothing was going to keep them from becoming one with their best friend… The way life is meant to be. My team and I have met a lot of wonderful couples in this line of work and Chris and Linh are no exception. They’re awesome!

Linh and Chris’ wedding ceremony took place at the St. Columban Catholic Church in Garden Grove and then held their reception at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. Located in Huntington Beach, this beach front wedding venue brings you as close to the waves as you can get without you and your guests getting wet. It’s a great location if you want a big beach wedding ceremony or just for your reception, because it includes breathtaking views of the ocean as the background for your event and for photographs. There are beautiful backdrops of towering palm trees and a panoramic view of the beach. This place is simply perfect! Trust me, I know.

It’s been quite the journey for Linh and Chris. Meeting through a mutual friend, followed by meeting for lunch as their first date at the Original Fish Co. And although Chris was more nervous than Linh was, he obviously left a good first impression, because as time went on, their story would ultimately include a Disneyland wedding proposal. And now here we are today at the Hilton Waterfront? What a ride.

Linh walked down the aisle in her beautiful white laced gown from Kora Brides and looked just stunning with her hair and makeup done by the talents of Vivian Tran Artistry. Chris was dashing himself as he wore a black tuxedo from Friar Tux. After the ceremony, AAA Entertainment held down the DJ duties and kept the party hopping, while guests were fed a terrific meal from the catering team at the Hilton Waterfront. The beautiful wedding cake was prepared by Rossmoor Pastries. Along with the bouquets and boutonnieres, the floral arraignments were beautifully decorated by Thuy Bridal and Florist, while the entire event was put together by the wedding coordination efforts of Events by Stephanie. Video of the wedding was recorded by Petit Four Films.

What three things do you admire most about your soon-to-be spouse and why?

Chris about Linh:              Linh has a passion for life, and she makes me a better person.

                                                Linh is organized and helps keep my life in order.

                                                Linh and I have a love for travel, and we are traveling companions.

Linh about Chris:              Chris has a big heart and always put me first.

                                                Chris has a strong faith and makes me want to be more religious.

                                                Chris is very patient and puts up with my good and bad days.

Describe each other in one word and why did you choose that word?

Chris about Link:               Linh is exciting because she keeps my life exciting.

Linh about Chris:              Chris is loving because he is a caring and supportive partner.

Any advice for other newly engaged couples as they begin to plan their wedding?
Be patient because there will be lots of challenges.

Describe your wedding for us. Is there a particular theme?  What flowers did you choose?  Any special traditions or items you have incorporated into the day?
Our wedding is modern with cultural influences including a Vietnamese and Chinese Tea Ceremony. We incorporated cultural wedding attire in addition to the white wedding dress. Our theme is love and romance with a rustic style.  We chose roses and peonies because those are the bride’s favorite flowers.

Looking back on planning your wedding, is there anything you would have done differently?
Be less of a perfectionist, go with the flow.

What’s the plans for the honeymoon?
Postponed until 2021
