Your outfit should reflect you personality. Maybe you want to dress for an adventure or maybe you want to go formal. Consider how your attire can fit with your session location.

Some locations can be super crowded. While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature? Did you go to a fair on your first date? While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

As seasons shift so does temperature, sunset times, foliage and crowds. Not all locations are a great choice year round.

One of our absolute personal favorite places to shoot engagement photography is at Irvine Regional Park in Orange. Yes, Orange and not actually in Irvine. An Irvine Regional Park Engagement Photo Session by Three16 Photography adds a touch of naturesque backgrounds to your photographs. It’s an amazing park with so many features for your Orange County engagement photos.
The reasons we love this park is that it has the typical green grass that you would expect to see in a park, but it also features many trees, which gives it a forest-like scenery. These particular type of natural surroundings are great to photograph, and they tend to look really good in pictures.
The best time to shoot at this park is during the Winter and Spring time as the forest area is more like an open field with tall grass and trees. The grass tends to be greener than usual. If we are shooting in the Summer and Fall times of the year, the colors tend to be more Fall-like with the brown and orange colors. We don’t know why this is, but Irvine Regional Park tends to get more of the Fall colors than some of the other local park locations.
Irvine Regional Park is also easy to move around at and we often can get more of a variety of photos shot in a short time. We have found that our clients that have scheduled a one-hour photo shoot here tend to have time to change outfits and still get a lot of photos taken at this location because everything is so close by.
Other ideas for photos here would include a small area of cactus that gives you a desert-like feel, a pond and a small community waterfall in the background as well. They also rent out bikes and aquacycles that could be included in your Irvine Regional Park engagement photo session.
