Some locations can be super crowded. While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature? Did you go to a fair on your first date? While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

As seasons shift so does temperature, sunset times, foliage and crowds. Not all locations are a great choice year round.

Really, what was your first thought when you read the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power as an engagement photo location? Well, if you have not seen this location before, you’re in for a treat. Los Angeles Department of Water & Power Engagement Photos by Three16 Photography will add some unique architecture that will enhance your engagement photos. So, if you are looking for something unique in downtown Los Angeles, then the John Ferraro LA Department of Water & Power Building would be an awesome choice.
The John Ferraro Building is the headquarters for the LADWP in downtown Los Angeles and it makes for great location if you’re looking for urban-style photography. Opened in 1965, this building has often been used in movies and television shows.
Taking Los Angeles Department of Water & Power engagement photos allows us to get some really great photos. The building is very unique with a lot of characteristics, which will make your photos different than many other locations. We recommend starting your shoot just before sunset, so we can get some photos with the use of natural lighting, but also, we can get more photos after sunset with the use of the night lights. Simply beautiful!
If you want to capture a few photos of greenery, there is a sliver of an area in front of the building that’s considered as a small park with some green grass and lavender.
The one problem we will have with this location is there is not a lot of options for a 1-hour photo session, so we recommend choosing a second location to go along with the LADWP. Right across the street you can consider the Ahmanson Theater, the Mark Taper Forum, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion or, our personal favorite, the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
The John Ferraro Building, and the surrounding area truly makes for a great location for urban-style engagement photography session.
