One of the great things about shooting Orange County engagement photography are all the unique shoot locations. Beaches and parks are more common, but for many couples it is all about the unique aspects that urban communities can bring you. If you are looking for an area that has that a vintage, old downtown feel to it, then Old Towne Orange, with its iconic Plaza Park, is the perfect location for you. Old Towne Orange Engagement Photos by Three16 Photography will add some unique architecture that will enhance your engagement photos.

The actual name of this location is The Orange Plaza, but other familiar names are Old Towne Orange, Downtown Orange, The Orange Plaza Square Park, and perhaps the most common, The Orange Circle. This area is very popular for movie and television studios to film at and is known for its annual Orange International Street Fair over Labor Day weekend.

We love shooting engagement photography here because it allows for us to walk around and utilize the different features of the buildings, the alleyways and the park. The buildings have that unique architecture that gives you that feel that you are back in the 1960's, along with antique shops, it is not uncommon to find some old classic cars parked in the circle area.

Then we can walk down some alleyways behind the shops for some great urban settings. The red bricks, old windows and window framework, often broken, gives your photos that classic vintage look to them as well. This quaint little area also has a small park right in the middle of the circle surrounded by a circular street. In this park is a very large tree, benches to sit on and an amazing, and iconic, water fountain. The original fountain was put into place in 1887 but was rebuilt to be an electronic fountain in 1940.

Any time of the year is a good time for photos here, but if you are considering having your photos here and want something different, you might want to consider taking them during the holiday season. Old Towne Orange gets all decked out with that vintage Christmas décor. The tree is lit up, the streets and the buildings really bring that holiday spirit.

Another reason we love shooting here is that it is just simple. The areas are accessible, parking is fairly easy. You can park in the circle itself or there is plenty of public parking lots behind the buildings. There is plenty of shopping and some of the best restaurants the county has to offer. Smoqued California BBQ  and Blaze Pizza are two of our personal favorites.

If you opt for more time, we recommend the nearby Orange Train Station as it would really compliment your Old Towne Orange engagement photos.
