Finding Love Can Happen Anywhere
As a wedding photographer here in Orange County, I meet so many people with incredible love stories. Lizeth and Jackson are no exception. We recently did a Trabuco Canyon Engagement Shoot in a secluded area and get this, we had to do some off-roading to get there. Which was fun of course!
I was truly inspired by this couple. First of all, Jackson is a marine and for some of the shots, he wore his uniform. How can you not be thankful for someone like Jackson when you see the uniform come out? But that wasn’t the only inspiration I was part of as I could really see the inspiration that Lizeth gave Jackson and vice versa. They also had fun and showed their true colors when they threw powdered paint at each other for the shoot. Yes, that was an intended pun, sorry.
For Three16 Photography, all in all, this was an inspiring day and I am thankful to have witnessed it. Here is Lizeth and Jackson’s brief story.
From Lizeth’s Viewpoint….
Q: How did you and Jackson first meet?
A: We first met in the kitchen at the Calvary Chapel Conference Center, where we both worked in the kitchen. We started talking as just friends, then we started hanging out together alone and that’s when we started to get feelings for each other.
Q: What did you do for your first date?
A: We went to Coronado Island in San Diego where one of Jackson’s friend’s mom works at and we had a very fancy and very expensive meal.
Q: If Jackson were any animal, what animal would he be and why?
A: I think he would be a dog just because he really loves them.
Q: What everyone wants to know is, how did Jackson propose to you?
A: Jackson and I are huge fans of Disneyland, so we go on a regular basis. One afternoon in December, around Christmas time, Jackson asked me if I wanted to go to Disneyland and I said, “yes, of course.” As we walked away from the park I saw all my friends and all my family holding signs up saying L I Z W I L L Y O U M A R R Y M E ? Then he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
Q: What are you most excited about in the future?
A: Starting our very own family together and having cute fat white blue-eyed babies.
From Jackson’s Viewpoint….
Q: Tell us, was it love at first sight? What did you think of Liz when you first met her and how did it go from there to the first date?
A: Yes, when I met Lizeth in the kitchen I was astonished by how beautiful she was. I was always into beautiful Latina women, but she was the most beautiful, kind-hearted, hard-working Latina I had ever met. I fell for who she was and how she loves Jesus and others. At first, she just saw me as a friend, but my good looks and charms made her fall for me and we started hanging out every day. On our first date, I gave her this dress she really wanted. She saw it at Target, but they didn’t have her size. So I went to Six Target stores to look for one in her dress size. I found one and surprised her with it and asked her out on a date to Coronado Island in San Diego.
Q: You’re in the Marines, what made you choose that path? What role will it play in your life as you get married?
A: Growing up I always wanted to be a marine and I finally made my dream come true. It happened right when I first started talking to Liz; as soon as I met her I had more inspiration to join and she was my motivation. Going through the hardest stage in becoming a marine, boot camp, became a test of true love between Liz and me. When I knew that I wasn’t going to have any communication with her, that’s when I knew that I loved her, and I wanted to stay strong for my future with Liz. She was truly my motivation to go through boot camp! She supports me and my career as a Marine and that’s all I need…. her support.
Q: How did you come up with the idea to propose the way you did?
A: Pinterest (haha). My two sisters helped me with ideas. I knew Liz wanted a private engagement, but I also knew I wanted to propose to her at our favorite place on earth and that was Disneyland!
Q: What are you both doing for your honeymoon? Going anywhere fun?
A: We are going to Cancun, Mexico on an all-exclusive, everything paid for vacation for 10 days and I can’t wait. The food and everything are already paid for, so all we need is just some spending money…. which is really awesome!
Q: What is the cutest, yet silliest thing Lizeth does that you love? Any silly nicknames?
A: I think that when Liz laughs it’s really cute. I call her big momma because when her feisty side comes out, she’s the boss!
