With Orange County and Southern California being such a huge wedding market, there is always a wide array of wedding ceremony and reception venues to choose from. Nicollette, however, had a very specific vision of what her big day would look like. She had always dreamed of having a fairy tale wedding, and she was set on finding the perfect wedding venue to fit her criteria. Nicollette and David dove into the search with high hopes, but after visiting 20 venues, they still hadn’t found their dream site. Being professional photographers from Orange County, we totally understand that. It wasn’t until Nicollette’s friend suggested to her the Vista Valley Country Club in Vista California, and she decided to take a look. Venue tour number 21 was exactly what she was hoping for!
Vista Valley had the exact ceremony site she had been imagining, and the feel of the venue was what she had been searching for the whole time. It was just a short drive from the city, surrounded by stunning mountains, lush green rolling hills and had breathtaking views. The charm and castle-like architecture of the venue fit perfectly with her dreams of a fairytale wedding. With winding paths through a lush and sunlit forest, a sparkling fountain amidst a gorgeous lake and details like a rusted metal and stone gate entrance in the woods, she had no doubt this was the place she’d exchange vows with the love of her life.
Fast forward to wedding day. The bride, Nicollette, wore a stunning sweetheart lace trumpet gown with a high neckline overlay. Her hair was elegantly curled and pulled into an updo to show off her beautiful face. David was looking handsome in a gray suit, gray vest, black shoes and belt, and a gray tie. His groomsmen matched his attire but included a robin’s egg blue accent into their outfits with their ties. Nicollette’s bridesmaids wore short dresses in the same color blue to bring the bridal party outfits all together. The bride’s bouquet was crafted with a handful of pastel flowers, succulents, and greenery perfectly placed throughout.
The beautiful ceremony was set outside, amongst the lush forest. The bridal party walked down a stone path that lead to a rustic wooden canopy, draped in stunning florals. After the gorgeous outdoor ceremony, the celebration moved inside where vaulted ceilings, dazzling chandeliers, and elegant patterned flooring kept guests mesmerized by the enchanting experience. The sweetheart table was overflowing with eucalyptus and included an elegant silk loveseat for the lovely couple to cozy up in while enjoying their delicious textured cake.
All of the details of their wedding day came together perfectly to create an amazing fairytale wedding celebration! We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to photograph their Vista Valley Country Club Wedding, and also so grateful that it’s lead to us being such good friends, and even going on double dates! Thank you again for inviting us to capture your day, David and Nicollette!
As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?
Knowing that we will never have to go through it again. Haha, just kidding. We have enjoyed being able to use this experience to get closer and learn even more about each other than before. We have also enjoyed meeting our great vendors and being able to know them as friends.
What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?
Finding a venue and finding the time to put together all the small details we never really thought/knew about.
Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?
Finding a wedding venue was very difficult for us, I (the bride) had a very specific image/them in mind that I wanted for our ceremony site. I wanted something that had a fairy tale feel with a lot of garden foliage. We looked at 20 venues all over Orange County and the surrounding areas. Nothing came close to what I was picturing. Finally, after a recommendation from a friend of my mother’s we checked out venue number 21 and it was perfect. Vista Valley Country Club had the exact ceremony site I had been picturing and the feel the venue gave off fit what I had been imagining.
Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?
Pinterest! We drew almost all of our ideas and inspiration from Pinterest and bridal magazines.
Where are you going for the honeymoon? Are you excited and why did you choose that destination?
We are going to Kauai for our honeymoon and we are very, very excited!! We knew that we wanted to go to Hawaii, so it was just a matter of picking an island. We both wanted a place that was slow paced, relaxing and very beautiful. And after talking to some travel agent friends, Kauai sounded like the perfect island for all three of those things.
