Los Angeles Professional Videographer
Working as professional Los Angeles wedding videographers, we meet some really great people along the way. Both clients and other great vendors in the industry have been a real pleasure to work with. We recently had to the opportunity to video the wedding of Jeff and Courtney up at the Casita Hollywood wedding venue. These two are just a dream to work with and not only did we video the wedding, we had the pleasure of setting up our photo booth for their reception. One of our favorite parts about working with clients is getting to know them and their stories. This is definitely the case for these two amazing people.
Located on Highland Ave, between Sunset Blvd and Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles, the Casita Hollywood is a gorgeous facility that brings a lot of charm to your wedding. The ambiance at this venue is remarkable and the background always makes your videos and photos pop. There are a couple of outdoor ceremonial spots and one indoor to host your event. It really is worth checking out if you’re looking for a venue in the LA area.
Who knew that a journey that began with a brief encounter in Lake Shasta, would lead them to Downward Dog for their first date a few years later, to the top of the Pasadena City Hall for a proposal and all the way to the Casita Hollywood where they become one. Wow, what a ride!
Decked out in a beautiful wedding dress, Courtney looked amazing thanks to the hair styles by Rachel Hummel and with her makeup was on point from Chelsea Delfino as she walked up the aisle to her waiting groom. Jeff, along with his eight groomsmen looked dashing in their navy-blue suits at this outdoor ceremony venue. The ceremony and the indoor reception area were beautifully decorated with flowers from Violet Flowers. After the ceremony the party continued with the musical sounds of DJ Got A Lot, and the photo booth was provided by our team at Three16 Photography. Oh, by the way, the food was amazing!! This was no ordinary catering company. No, they had variety! Food was provided by Original Tommy’s, Nana’s Tacos and Fig et le Fromeage. In addition, they had a doughnut wall with the doughnuts of Kettle Glazed Doughnuts. Awesome!! Then to top it all off was the gorgeous wedding cake by Butter Cake Shoppe. This entire wedding came off beautifully thanks to the wedding coordinator from One Darling Day. The wedding and reception were caught on camera by Madison Ellis Photography.

Courtney and Jeff’s Love Story
How did you both meet and who liked who first?
We met at a spring break type weekend in college at Shasta Lake. Courtney was on a mutual friend’s boat and Jeff stopped by to say hi and noticed Courtney immediately. We briefly chatted, but nothing really came of it until a few years later.
Tell us about your first date. Who was more nervous and what did you guys do?
We went out to dinner and drinks at Downward Dog, then we went out to the bars with Jeff’s friends for the night. Courtney was definitely more nervous, as we originally planned for Friday night, but she got cold feet and stayed in at her friend’s house.
What’s the proposal story? Give us all the details and tell us, who cried first?
Months ago, we tried to go up to the roof of Pasadena City Hall, one of the city’s landmarks, but there isn’t a way to get up there. I booked a photographer and planned to go to dinner that night. I mentioned that I found a way to go up to the top on the internet and asked if she wanted to go, knowing she’d say yes. We got there, and she was very impatient because she was hungry. She kept asking “well how do we get up there…?” so I kept stalling until the area I wanted to do it cleared out.
As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?
The excitement of getting everyone we love together and making Courtney’s dream wedding come true.
What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?
Literally everything.
Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?
Because of the modern touch.
Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?
Pinterest, and Etsy and Instagram.
Where are you going for the honeymoon and why did you choose that destination?
Originally planning to go to China & Japan, but after the Coronavirus, we’re delaying that trip. We love food and culture, plus Jeff is half Japanese and half Chinese. We’ll likely be going on a mini-moon to Mexico potentially.
