If you are looking to have an engagement photo session done on the beach but are not looking for the traditional sand between the toe’s shots, then you might want to consider Doheny State Beach. Doheny State Beach Engagement Photos in Dana Point by Three16 Photography will give you some amazing photographic backgrounds to your photos.
Located between Laguna and Capistrano Beaches, Doheny State Beach has some of the most beautiful sights that nature has to offer.
There is so much natural beauty at Doheny that if you haven’t experienced it, you will fall in love with it. There are some of the best rock formations in Southern California that can enhance your photos. If you are looking for your photos to be taken later in the day, then we can take advantage of having the sunset hitting off the cliffs, which make for breathtaking photos.
One of our favorite parts at Doheny State Beach is a spot located not far from The Ocean Institute where the huge rock formations runs along the sands. Then if you want a little more than just the natural aspect in your photos, the marina is near the institute and having the boats in your shots are a favorite aspect of many of our beach sessions.
If you want to go with a little wilder to your photos and don’t mind having people in the background, consider having your shots done during the many Doheny State Beach festivals, concerts and other events. Very popular for surfers as well.
The only drawback is we need to plan around the high tides. Having your photos taken within the rocks while the tide is high creates quite the challenge, so it is not recommended during those times. Another great part of having your photo shoot at this location is the option for second locations at the nearby Salt Creek Beach or the Ritz-Carlton.
So, if you are looking for engagement photos at the beach but are looking for something different than your typical beach photography that you can do at Huntington or Newport Beaches, then consider a Doheny State Beach engagement photo session.
