There was a time not long ago that the area we know today as Downtown Brea was a rundown neighborhood. Many homes were old, and many driveways were simply dirt. Those days are long gone, and the Downtown Brea area is the place to be for dining, shopping, entertainment and some really great special events. Birch Street is the main strip of Downtown Brea, but before you get there, there are other places that are great to include in your photos, such as Taps Fish House, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Old Brea Chop House. Then next to that is the Brea Improv.

Head down Birch Street and you’ll have a wide variety of dining experiences with various cuisines. There are places to shop, a couple of movie theaters, and plenty of parking. If you check the Downtown Brea website, you can schedule your engagement photo session around their classic car shows, which runs during the Christmas holidays and around Father’s Day. In the fall, there’s the Taste of Brea and the Brea Jazz Festival. Then in May is their country music festival, Brea Bonanza Days. To top that off, the Brea Mall is only about a mile away.

If time permits to include an additional location, there is the Brea Community Center which is home to some really great artwork. Go a little further and we can photograph in a naturesque setting at the Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Craig Regional Park, Tri-City Park, or at the Fullerton Arboretum.
