When you think of shooting an engagement photo session in Laguna Beach you are probably thinking about the sand between your toes, walking hand in hand in the low surf or catching some sunshine. But have you thought about the uniqueness of Laguna Beach’s artist colony area, otherwise known as Downtown Laguna Beach? A stroll through Downtown Laguna Beach for your engagement photos by Three16 Photography will give you a unique perspective, amazing backgrounds and some of the most interesting shops along Pacific Coast Highway.
As we stroll along PCH between the main State Beach and Table Rock Beach, there are many specialty shops, food locations, bars and hotels. Each of them has their unique look to them that make for awesome backdrops in your photos.
We can make a stop at Chantilly Ice Cream and take some fun shots of you having ice cream together or having a cone as you continue along your walk. We can then shoot in front of a couple of art galleries, such as Wyland Galleries or Kush Fine Art Gallery. Their structures and signage make for some really great photo opportunities.
Then of course we have restaurants such as The Cliff Restaurant or Greeter’s Corner, or we can visit a tavern like The Rooftop Lounge or one of the many others. One more are we can consider are the back allies to the restaurants. Laguna Beach is filled with so much opportunity in this 3.5-mile stretch.
With so many areas along this stretch of the urban area to consider, we can always go out on to the sand for some more photo opportunities. Always room for playful poses. One of the nice things about photographing in this area, is that we can add a nearby second location with either the Main Beach Laguna or the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.
