As you can imagine, being a Los Angeles County wedding photographer in the year 2020 has had its share of challenges, from postponements to reductions of guest lists to complete relocation of venues. But the one constant has been the amazing couples we meet and get to work with. As challenging as it has been for us in the wedding industry this year, it has been even more challenging for those who are trying to plan their weddings. Fortunately for Cedrick and Bryanna, they were able to plan and hold their wedding in this so-called magical year as they came together as one on September 19th at the Long Beach Marriott Hotel. A truly wonderful couple that put together a beautiful wedding at an amazing wedding venue.

The Long Beach Marriott can best be described as one of the more beautiful resort-like hotels in Long Beach, if not all of Los Angeles County. You can opt to marry in their outdoor gazebo, which is located near the poolside, or you have an option of up to 15 event rooms to choose from that can accommodate up to 400 of your closest friends and family members. One of the reasons we love this wedding venue are all the options that can be used as backdrops to your wedding photos. They have beautiful palm trees, a firepit and an amazing waterfall. These, along with others, really make your pictures pop and make for great memories.

Thanks to the talents of Cheyanne, Bryanna’s hair and makeup were on point as she walked up the aisle in a beautiful wedding dress from The Dresser Bridal. Cedrick awaited his bride at the altar looking dashing in his navy-blue suit. The floral arrangements for the wedding and reception were done with such grace by Cristina’s Flowers and VIP Events DJ’s kept the reception rockin’ throughout the reception. Torrance Bakery supplied a beautiful two-tiered white wedding cake for all to enjoy. The coordination of True Luxe Events really brought the entire event together in such a beautiful way that made Bryanna and Cedrick truly standout.

What started out as a chance meeting from an online dating site, to a Christmas Day proposal and now completing the journey at the Long Beach Marriott Hotel, this ride has been a special one.

How did you both meet?

Online Dating

Who liked who first?

We argue over this lol. Bride says Groom, Groom says Bride, but deep down he knows it was him.

Tell us about your first date. Who was more nervous and what did you guys do?

First real date, we went bowling. Bride was more nervous for sure. Bride was so nervous she didn’t even order food – ha ha ha. Oh, how things have changed since then. But Bride has been stealing Groom’s food ever since.

What’s the proposal story?  Give us all the details and tell us, who cried first?

Groom proposed on Christmas Day 2016. He wrapped it as a regular present. Bride opened the present and found another wrapped item. Opened a silver rose that held the ring inside the rose. Groom got on one knee and proposed. Bride’s dad was also there. Bride really wanted diamond earrings that year for Christmas and Groom also got her those.

We have waiting so long for this day to come. Our son was born the year after our engagement. Then, when our son was 8-months old, we fostered two of the Groom’s toddler cousins for a couple years, which paused our plans on a wedding financially. This is why we are so excited for this day to finally be here.

As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?

The cake tasting was fun, and we actually enjoyed being able to do it at home. Groom says that he has enjoyed planning period because it means the day is getting closer.

What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?

COVID

Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?

Well, it was not our original choice but COVID made it very hard for us and this venue worked and can accommodate us. We have been waiting many years for this day and we didn’t want to wait any longer.

Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?

Pinterest all day.

Where are you going for the honeymoon and why did you choose that destination?

Ummmmm, COVID, so that’s postponed. After COVID we would like to go back to Hawaii because we both LOVE it there.
