Some locations can be super crowded. While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature? Did you go to a fair on your first date? While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

As seasons shift so does temperature, sunset times, foliage and crowds. Not all locations are a great choice year round.

Typically speaking, large parks, especially when there is a large lake on it, is pretty well known and popular. But once in a while you come across a large park that has two large lakes and if you aren’t paying attention, you can drive right by it and not even see it. But for those who have seen it and been there, they will tell you that the Mike Ward Community Park is a true diamond in the rough. It’s a beautiful location and if you’re looking to have your engagement photos taken, then a Mike Ward Community Park Engagement Photography session in Irvine by Three16 Photography will make for beautiful photos that will last a lifetime.
Located right in the middle of city area, Mike Ward Community Park is oddly designed as it is broken up into three sections. Starting with the southern end of the park is the South Lake. Heading north, the lake ends at the highway (Alton Parkway). Once you cross over you will then be in the actual park and athletic fields. Continuing north, you’ll cross over the San Diego Creek bridge that will take you into the Woodbridge Village Shopping Center. Cross over another busy street (Barranca Parkway) and you’ll arrive at the North Lake. We told you it was crazy, but it is so worth it.
Both lakes include a really nice-looking bridge that allows you to cross the lake and both also have beautiful gazebos that extend over the lake, that we will definitely include in your photo session. The park itself, which is 22 acres in size, offers a variety of activities that we can incorporate. They have a couple of basketball, handball and sand volleyball courts. They also have an amphitheater, which houses their Concerts in the Park series every summer, as well as a beach looking lagoon where the kids can play in.
The Mike Ward Community Park is closely located near UC Irvine, the Irvine Spectrum, Strawberry Farms Golf Club and is only about two and a half miles from The District at Tustin Legacy, where there are plenty of great places to eat. This is truly a great location for your engagement photo session to take place at.
