As Professional Photographers here in Southern California, we have the amazing opportunity to meet some really terrific people and work at some of the best venues around. Whether we photograph their engagement session, their wedding, various stages of their family life, or any combination of those, each couple we meet is truly great to work with. But I will have to admit, my favorite part of working with so many great couples is hearing their stories. Learning how they met, how they became interested in each other, their first date, and of course, the proposal. Also, watching their faces as they talk about it is a great moment for us for sure. This is especially true for Erica and Isaiah. A truly wonderful couple that we had the pleasure of photographing at their Mount Palomar Winery Wedding down in Temecula.
Established in 1969, Mount Palomar Winery is one of the oldest wineries that’s located in Temecula Valley. It’s the perfect winery wedding venue that features stunning surroundings, gorgeous ceremony, and reception areas. The surroundings of this winery include plazas, lush gardens, and terraces that are inspired by those in Italy. This venue’s backdrops are a dream for any wedding photographer.
Erica and Isaiah’s wedding day was beautiful. The weather was hot, but there was an enjoyable breeze that would come up at different times during the ceremony and reception, which made it nice considering both aspects took place outdoors. The bride was stunning in her Essense of Australia gown, while her groom was decked out in a black Michael Kors tuxedo. All of the details of this winery wedding were captured by the team at Three16 Photography.

Erica and Isaiah’s Love Story
What three things do you admire most about your soon-to-be spouse and why?
Erica (about Isaiah): I admire Isaiah’s Creativity, Sense of Humor, and Thoughtfulness
Isaiah (about Erica): I admire Erica’s Faithfulness, Love for Adventure, and Generosity
Describe each other in one word and why did you choose that word?
Erica (about Isaiah): Isaiah is Passionate. Everything Isaiah does is meaningful and purposeful. He stays true to himself while being respectful of the people in his life. He is motivated which feeds his passion to be successful in everything he does.
Isaiah (about Erica): Erica is a giver. She puts other’s needs before her own and loves giving gifts to put a smile on your face. I always appreciate it. She has a kind heart which promotes her generosity to everyone she meets.
Any advice for other newly engaged couples as they begin to plan their wedding?
Save money and do your research early. If possible, go to vendor events at your wedding venue.
Describe your wedding for us. Is there a particular theme? What flowers did you choose and why? Any special traditions or items you have incorporated into the day?
We’re going with the burgundy and champagne colors and tones for our wedding. We don’t have a specific theme and just incorporated some rustic and elegant elements into our beautiful venue. One of the reasons we chose Mount Palomar is that the venue looks great on its own. Our florist is including ivory, blush, and burgundy towns in the arrangements. As a symbol of our love for each other and our love towards Christ, we chose to put together a Unity Cross during the ceremony. We will be able to have this Cross in our home for years to come and always be reminded of this wonderful day.
Looking back on planning your wedding, is there anything you would have done differently?
Erica: Hire someone to plan the wedding.
Isaiah: Started saving earlier.
What’s the plans for the honeymoon?
We are going to Fiji for 10 days! We stay on the main island for four days at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort. Then the rest of our time will be spent on Lomani island. We are looking forward to all of the new adventures on this trip.
