Once upon a time life was pretty simple and it was happening without the thought of a pandemic, covid-19 or Coronavirus. Like many couples before them, a lovely couple hired us to photograph their wedding. Everything was going great, and then “IT” happened, and “IT” shut everything down. This super friendly couple were forced to reschedule. But never fear, like many fairytales, this one has a happy ending with an all-outdoor wedding and reception in December 2020. Photos of Connor & Megan’s Old Ranch Country Club wedding in Seal Beach by Three16 Photography will leave them everlasting memories for years to come.

Old Ranch Country Club is one of our favorite wedding venues to photograph at. It offers a great outdoor wedding ceremony that every bride dreams about. With a stone pathway, the bride walks down and meets her awaiting groom under a Romanesque gazebo. The ceremony background is amazing as it is highlighted by a sparkling lake and manicured golf course. A beautiful view to say the least.

Megan looked stunning in her wedding gown from Bhldn and her hair and make-up were on point due to the talents of stylist from Kylee Hudson Bridal. Awaiting Megan at the altar, Connor wore a navy-blue suit from Friar Tux along with an American Flag-looking bow tie. The groomsmen, along with Connor, are all military veterans, and we thank each and everyone of them, wore gray suits and no ties. After the ceremony, the reception kept a rockin’ from the sounds being played by DJ Dominic from Bouquet Sound. Butter + Cream provided a 3-tiered white wedding cake and the entire event was in the hands of Old Ranch Country Club’s dynamic duo of Katie and Sophia.

Megan and Connor’s Love Story

How did you both meet and who liked who first?

We met in high school but went to the same middle school. Megan liked Connor first.

Tell us about your first date. Who was more nervous and what did you guys do?

We went to Yogurtland, but our first official date was to Duke’s in Huntington Beach.

What’s the proposal story? Give us all the details and tell us, who cried first?

We rode bikes to Sunset Beach to watch the sunset. It was a very cold day and we enjoyed the overcast sunset and then Connor popped the question. Megan’s response was, “are you sure?” with tears streaming down her face.

As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?

We have enjoyed seeing our family and friends come together to support us.

What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?

Dealing with the continued challenges presented due to COVID.

Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?

Old Ranch is in the city where we grew up. We both attended high school sports banquets there, took winter formal pictures there and went to dinners there. It has a special place in our hearts, and we love the team we have worked with.

Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?

From other weddings that we have attended. We wanted our day to be a reflection of us and our relationship.

Where are you going for the honeymoon and why did you choose that destination?

We are going to Tahiti! We could not be more excited to get away and spend time together as hubby and wife. We chose this destination because we wanted to have a once in a lifetime experience together.
