Red Horse Barn Wedding | Eric & Jennifer

Where the Surf really does meet the Turf

One of the more exciting parts about being an Orange County wedding photographer is the people that you get to meet and the locations you get to visit in this great county that I get to shoot photos at. This is just what I experienced with Jennifer and Eric for their recent wedding shoot.

Jennifer and Eric got married at the Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach, CA. Who would have ever thought that there would be horse country in Surf City U.S.A.? But there it was, kind of like Surf and Turf. The venue offers a really nice rustic country feel. This was the perfect backdrop for Jennifer as she is a country girl at heart, who loves country music and riding horses. Eric is quieter, yet smiles big and brings joy when he enters into a room.

The ceremony itself was beautiful and Jennifer included her daughter, Hayley, as a big part of the day as the three of them poured unity sand together during the ceremony. Smiles abound this September day.

From the viewpoint of Jennifer and Eric….

Q: How did you both first meet?
A: We met over 10 years ago on a slow-pitch softball team.

Q: What did you do for your first date?
A: Eric took me to the Orange County Fair.

Q: Where did Eric propose?
A: We were at dinner at BJ’s Restaurant back on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.

Q: What have you enjoyed most about planning your wedding?
A: Learning how we handle making decisions together. We have found out that we share a lot of common interests.

Q: How has it brought you two closer together?
A: Eric is very easygoing, and I am a little higher edge, but we balance each other out very well. We have learned that we love one another and that we couldn’t wait to be married.

Q: Where are you going for your honeymoon, and why there?
A: We are going to Sandals Antigua. We chose to go there because We wanted an all-inclusive place that was romantic and beautiful. Throw in that we both love tropical weather and there you have it.

Q: What three words would best describe Eric?
A: Eric is Patient, Supportive, and Loving.

Q: What three words would best describe Jennifer?
A: Jennifer is Caring, Understanding, and Gracious.
