It’s days like this that I can sit back and reflect on why I became a wedding photographer. When you get to witness two people so excited about getting married that you cannot only see it in their photos, but you can feel it too. Eric and Angela are incredibly sweet and very passionate about everything they do; after all, they are huge Los Angeles Kings hockey fans.
This was a really great event for the whole team at Three16 Photography as Eric and Angela hired us for an all-inclusive package: photography, videography, aerial photo, and video by drone, as well as for hair and makeup. So for me to shoot their engagement photoshoot and now their wedding, it made it especially nice for me and for my team.
The day was spent at a few Orange County marquis spots. The ceremony was held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Anaheim, where prior to the ceremony, Eric and Angela spent a precious moment together as they had a blind first look where they could share a private moment together alone. If you don’t know what a blind first look is, it’s where the couple doesn’t see each other, but you have a private moment together holding hands before the ceremony. Angela looked incredible. In fact, her dress was so beautiful, she even made her own wedding party wait to see it until she walked down the stairs to head off to the church.
After the ceremony ended, and before going to the reception, we whisked the bride and groom to the In-n-Out Burger joint in Fullerton to celebrate with their wedding party, and of course to enjoy a Double-Double and a shake! After downing the world’s greatest hamburger, Eric and Angela headed over to their reception at the Summit House Restaurant, also located in Fullerton.
Angela, being Filipino, has a big family and I always love seeing the bride’s family come together with the groom’s family to support the newly wedded couple and become one big family.
Just a side note, I used to work at the Summit House and that’s how I first got into the wedding industry. It was so great to see familiar faces and to know our clients were well taken care of. We can’t wait to work at the Summit House more in the future.
Congratulations Eric and Angela, and thank you for allowing us to witness your venture.
Our best to you always and…. Go Ducks!
Angela and Eric’s Love Story
Q: As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?
A: Working together, through both the fun and difficult days, has helped us learn how to best be there for one another. We have enjoyed selecting the details that will make our wedding the most important and memorable day of our lives. As our wedding day inches closer, it has been very enjoyable to talk about our dreams for the future.
Q: What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?
A: Remember that this day is about US!!! There have been some unpleasant distractions from various people around us and we have had to remain focused on the positive. In the long run, these types of challenges will help strengthen our bond and relationship.
Q: Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venues?
A: The ceremony is at the church where Angela attended grade school at. It was important for her to celebrate this day at a venue she knew well and had fond memories of. The Summit House was breathtaking to both of us. The views of Orange County, the delicious menu, and the romantic atmosphere just felt perfect to us both.
Q: Where are you going for your honeymoon? Are you excited and why did you choose that destination?
A: While we haven’t booked the trip yet, we are planning on going to Italy in September for two weeks. It’s almost hard to think past the wedding day at this moment, but we are both very excited about this trip.
