We just love when elegance meets the sands of an Orange County beach. As Professional Photographers, we love taking in weddings that have a lot of detail, even though some wedding venues are a little more difficult to pull that off. This really is true for Cory and Melody, and their wedding that took place at the Surf and Sand Resort Wedding Venue. A truly wonderful couple that we had the pleasure of photographing their wedding down in Laguna Beach.

The Surf & Sand Resort is a beautiful beachfront resort that offers everything you need for your beach wedding. This location boasts a Mediterranean Village feel to it with three locations to choose from for your wedding ceremony: The Catalina Terrace, the Ocean Terrace, or simply a spot on the actual beach.

Cory and Melody absolutely love the ocean, and quickly fell in love with this venue! With just under two months to plan their entire wedding, this amazing couple pulled everything together for an elegant beach-inspired celebration. Their color palette of blues, gold, white, and pink carried the beach theme throughout every detail of their wedding day. From the baby blue bridesmaid gowns to the pink and white floral arrangements, and all of the gold decor accents, this spring wedding seemed very well thought out despite the limited time to plan.

Melody was dressed in a sweetheart lace gown with a flowing tulle bottom, while her groom wore a navy suit with a white tie. They exchanged vows in the sunny outdoor terrace, with a panoramic ocean backdrop. For the reception, the party continued in one of the resort’s gorgeous ballrooms.

As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?

Spending time with each other, family, and friends during the planning process.

What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?

Overall planning it in less than two months.

Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?

We both love the ocean and the venue had the perfect view, plus they have an indoor space that allowed for a late reception with no noise restrictions.

Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?

Pinterest and personal style.

Where are you going for your honeymoon? Are you excited and why did you choose that destination?

Hawaii! Yes, we wanted to go somewhere warm, beautiful, relaxing and with lots of activities.
