Working as an Orange County Professional Photographer, we get a lot of opportunities to photograph at some pretty great locations and venues. But perhaps our favorite part is getting to meet and know all the great couples that cross our paths. Regardless if we are photographing their engagement session, their wedding, various stages of their family life, or any combination of those, each of them has been truly great to work with. What makes them particularly fun is hearing their stories. This is especially true for Ricky and Cinthya. An amazing couple that we had the pleasure of photographing their wedding at the Villa del Sol here in Orange County.
Located in the downtown area of Fullerton, the Villa del Sol was designed to offer a rustic and vintage Spanish appeal. The Villa Del Sol serves as a beautiful outdoor venue for your special wedding day as it is held down the center of the open courtyard. Both ceremony and reception are held outdoors with capacity at approximately 250 of your closest friends, family, and other guests.
The Villa del Sol was the perfect location for Cinthya and Ricky’s wedding as, according to Cinthya, “it has this mix of culture kind of vibe and that’s what we are looking for. Basically, merging our cultures with me being Mexican and he being from the United States.”
From the time they first met at Starbucks, as Cinthya came in for a job interview with then-manager Ricky, to later a first date singing karaoke to this beautiful wedding, it has been a true love romance.
At the wedding, Cinthya looked stunning in her Maggie Sottero designed wedding gown from Soy Novia, and her hair and makeup were both on point due to the beauty talents of Elywnn& Cass. As Cinthya walked down the aisle, her groom was standing at the altar wearing a gray suit along with a purple and black striped tie from Friar Tux. The groomsmen were also decked out in the same gray suit and tie to match the bridesmaids that wore lovely lavender dresses.
The wedding and reception were well planned out by the wedding coordination of CMG, along with the floral arrangements by La Rosa Que Creció. The reception was a complete success thanks to an amazing meal prepared by Fullerton Brew Company, as well as dessert provided by Chunk n Chip. The eatery was complete with a gorgeous wedding cake by Whole Foods. Of course, no party is complete without the rockin’ sounds of VOX DJ’s and the music of Ocdamia Music Group.

Cinthya and Ricky’s Love Story
What three things do you admire most about your soon-to-be spouse and why?
Cinthya – Smart. I admire how smart he is. Every day I see how he makes decisions at work or just in life really and I admire the way he gets to those decisions. I think he’s a really smart person, he is really thoughtful at making decisions.
Funny. I also admire how funny he is, I love his sense of humor. Being with him is having a great time as he can be super goofy, silly and can make me laugh about almost anything. I love the way he does that.
Empathy. I also admire how he empathizes with people. He always looks at the other side of things and tries to always understand the other views.
It’s hard to mention just three things that I admire about him because I honestly just admire who he is, he just makes me better in all aspects.
Ricky–Genuine. Cinthya is the most straight forward genuine girl I’ve ever met. You can see how great she is right on the surface and warms any room she walks into. She loves with the best selfless heart.
Fun. She is absolutely so fun to be around. You cannot have a frown around her because she makes any situation so much more fun by her just being herself.
Selfless. She is selfless. While of course she wants things all the time like Puppies, In-n-Out Burger, Chips, etc, she’ll still always put others first and she genuinely cares for others well-being.
Describe each other in one word and why did you choose that word?
Cinthya – Confident. I chose that word because for me it means someone that knows who he is and is not afraid of knowing his mistakes, someone that is smart, someone that knows what he or she wants and goes out of the comfort zone to get it. And for me, that is Ricky. I see him as confident and so much more!
Ricky – Genuine. I chose that word because so many people play games or have hidden agendas. Not Cinthya. She is true to herself and honest. Anyone would be so lucky to have her in their lives. It makes her dependable and inspiring. She inspires me to be a better person every day just being herself.
Any advice for other newly engaged couples as they begin to plan their wedding?
Cinthya – Yes, it can be stressful sometimes but doing all the decisions with my partner had made everything so much easier. Enjoy every decision and every step till you get to your big day.
Ricky – Ask for help and advice. Ask your venue, other vendors, friends, and family if you have questions. It’s a lot to handle planning a wedding on top of daily life. If you ask for help, it will hopefully help the whole process to be more fun.
Describe your wedding for us. Is there any particular theme? What flowers did you choose and why? Are there any special traditions or items you have incorporated into the day?
Cinthya – We are getting married at Villa del Sol it. It has this mix of culture kind of vibe and that’s what we are looking for basically merging our cultures with me being Mexican and he being from the United States. We want it to be a big dance party! We just want to share our love and happiness with our loved ones. We are going to have 147 guests; our wedding is going to be buffet style and we are going to have an open bar.
The flowers are going to be mostly palm trees because they go great with the place and we love that vibe.
Looking back on planning your wedding, is there anything you would have done differently?
Cinthya – No, I think we did everything we needed to do at the time we had to and I have enjoyed every decision.
What’s the plans for the honeymoon?
Cinthya – OMG we are so excited about our honeymoon! We are going to Thailand, Singapore and Bali.
