Your outfit should reflect you personality. Maybe you want to dress for an adventure or maybe you want to go formal. Consider how your attire can fit with your session location.

Some locations can be super crowded. While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature? Did you go to a fair on your first date? While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

As seasons shift so does temperature, sunset times, foliage and crowds. Not all locations are a great choice year round.

Not only do we believe that Orange County has the best beaches along the California coastline, but we also believe the county has the best piers as well. Huntington and Newport probably get the most attention, but if you are looking for a gem, you might find it at the Balboa Pier. The pier itself isn’t as unique as Newport’s wood structure, but Balboa Pier also has some truly unique and fun nearby locations as well that can be incorporated into your session. Three16 Photography Engagement Photos taken at the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach will leave you with wonderful memories to share with others.
The Balboa Pier is your typical pier. It has the cement path with railings and a restaurant at the far end. Under the pier you have the crashing waves with beautiful sandy beaches on either side of the it. Just to the south of the pier is Balboa Peninsula Park, which has a nice contrast of greenery and palm trees you don’t get on the beach or pier itself.
Unless you specifically want all your shots at the pier, I would highly suggest adding other aspects that Balboa has to offer, as it is one of our favorite low-key towns. If we opt to walk around the area, there are several cute little shops and eateries that bring some unique backdrops to your photos. And less than a half mile away is the Balboa Fun Zone area with all its history and all the fun aspects we can add to your photos.
If time permits, we can go a little further out and hop on the Balboa Island Ferry, and head over to Balboa Island. If you want to go a little further out, we can head south a mile and a half to West Jetty View Park where the Newport Beach Jetties open you up to ocean blues. If we go north from the pier about two miles away is the Newport Beach Pier and surrounding area.
