Some locations can be super crowded.  While a session at the beach, a popular park or Disneyland can be great, it may not be ideal for you.

Do you love nature?  Did you go to a fair on your first date?  While a beautiful garden might be fun for some, maybe it isn't the perfect location for you.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION LOCATION:

discovering orange county engagement locations:

BOLSA CHICA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE

There are so many options to the type of settings you can choose from for your engagement photo session that they can seem endless. Of course, there is always the beach, a park, or even in urban areas, but one area that has been increasingly popular are nature locations. And even then, the choices are many. That being said, one of the largest saltwater marshes along the entire coast of California is located right here in Orange County. Engagement Photos at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach is a great location to have your session shot by Three16 Photography.

The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is a little over 1,300-acre large with a variety of different habitats. From plant life, to birds, animals and water aspects, this location has it all. Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is where Freeman Creek, the Santa Ana River, and waters from the Pacific Ocean all come together to create this brackish environment.

This location has approximately five miles of trails that can be explored from sunrise to sunset. And due to the animals, that call this their home, it is required to stay on the trails at all times. The trails will take us to spots where the scenery is spectacular and will really add to the backdrops of your photos, especially in the springtime, March through May, as the grounds will be blanketed with yellow wildflowers and bring so much color to the Huntington Beach area.

If time permits to include an additional location, we can consider the nearby Bolsa Chica State Beach, or take Pacific Coast Highway to Huntington Beach or go north to Seal Beach.

You can learn more about Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve as your engagement location by visiting bolsachica.org.
