One of the really great parts of being a photographer in Orange County is discovering nice nature parks and hiking trails in our own backyard. It would be unusual to hold a wedding there, but these locations make for some amazing engagement photo sessions. Being out in nature puts everyone more at ease and it really shows in the end result. Three16 Photography loves photographing your event at the many nature areas and hiking trails located in Orange County, Los Angeles and surrounding areas of Southern California.
Naturesque locations may have some similarities with your standard parks, but they can also be two very different types of locations. Whereas a park may have more year-round greenery due to the constant upkeep by professional services, along with clubhouses and sports fields, a more natural location is just that… Natural, and not necessarily maintained. Therefore, it would not be surprising to only find color in certain times of the year and green or Fall colors during other times. If that is what you are looking for your engagement session, then you should consider locations such as Redwood Grove or Northwest Open Space.
If you are both into hiking, then consider natural parks that not only have trails, but trails that have something to offer back to your photos or make for great backdrops. If you are looking to include hiking or if there is an area you are interested in and hiking is the only way to get there, you may want to consider these locations such as Red Rock Canyon, Santiago Oaks Regional Park, Thomas F. Riley Wilderness Park, Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, just to name a few.
If you are from outside the Orange County area and have a nature center or hiking trail in mind, let us know or you can check out Riley’s Farms and Los Rio Rancho, Oak Glen Preserve, Snow Summit or Big Bear Lake.
Nature Parks and Hiking Trails can often be considered a blank canvas for you to put your personality out on display, so having your Engagement Photo Session taken in a nature center location or on a hiking trail makes for a great option.
Something to consider before having a photo session taken at a nature center or hiking trail, be sure to check with park officials or the city if permits are required.
