If you live in Southern California, then you already know we have the best beaches anywhere. But if your work often takes you the beach, life doesn’t get much better than that. One of the best parts of shooting engagement photography is all the Orange County beach locations that serve as an amazing setting. Three16 Photography loves photographing your event at the many beaches located in Orange County, Los Angeles and surrounding areas of Southern California.
Shooting engagement photography at various beaches allows us many types of backdrops in your photos and items that can be incorporated into your shots, such as some really awesome rock formations, tide pools or even under the piers. As nice as the cement piers at Huntington Beach and Manhattan Beach are, we prefer piers like that of Newport Beach where the support beams are still made of wood and that will give your photos a much more unique edge to it that cement cannot do.
Of course all locations have their pros and their cons, but if you opt for a beach engagement session, some of the Orange County beaches we enjoy photographing at includes Newport Beach Pier, Salt Creek Beach, Thousand Step Beach, Doheny State Beach, Main Beach Laguna, and perhaps our favorite beach location, Table Rock Beach.
Other Orange County beach locations, such as Treasure Island and the Huntington Beach Pier are also good locations, but they just have a few more obstacles than the others listed. The Montage in Laguna Beach, the Balboa Fun Zone and Balboa Island offer more than beaches do, but they also have very short walks to the beach.
A couple of other beaches to consider along the Los Angeles County coastline include El Matador State Beach and the Manhattan Beach Pier.
Advantages of a Beach Location
• Beautiful Backdrops
• Awesome Rock Formations
• Cool Features that Wooden Piers Offer
• Tide Pools
Disadvantages of a Nature & Hiking Trail Location
• For Some Beaches, the Crowds!
• Some Beaches are Hard to Find
• Some Beaches Charge for Parking
• Occasional High Tides
More often than naught, Beaches are like having a blank canvas to work with for you to put your personality out on display, so having your Engagement Session photographed at a beach makes for a great option.
Something to consider before having a photo session taken at a beach, be sure to check with beach officials or the city if permits are required.
