Fun. Timeless. Romantic.

beach engagement locations

If you live in Southern California, then you already know we have the best beaches anywhere. But if your work often takes you to the beach, well, then life doesn’t get much better than that. One of the best parts of shooting engagement photography is all the beach locations that serve as amazing settings. Southern California Beaches have beautiful backdrops and is an ideal location for your Engagement Photo Sessions taken by Three16 Photography.

Shooting engagement photography at various beaches allows us many types of backdrops in your photos and items that can be incorporated into your shots, such as some really awesome rock formations, tide pools or even under the piers. As nice as the cement piers at Huntington Beach and Manhattan Beach are, we prefer piers like that of Newport Beach where the support beams are still made of wood and that will give your photos a much more unique edge to it that cement cannot do.

Of course all locations have their pros and their cons, but if you opt for a beach engagement session, some of the Orange County beaches we enjoy photographing at includes Newport Beach Pier, Salt Creek Beach, Thousand Steps Beach, Doheny State Beach, Main Beach Laguna, and perhaps our favorite beach location, Table Rock Beach.

Other Orange County beach locations, such as Treasure Island and the Huntington Beach Pier are also good locations, but they just have a few more obstacles than the others listed. The Montage in Laguna Beach, the Balboa Fun Zone and Balboa Island offer more than beaches do, but they also have very short walks to the beach.

A couple of other beaches to consider along the Los Angeles County coastline include El Matador State Beach and the Manhattan Beach Pier.

advantages  & disadvantages of a beach location:

More often than naught, Beaches are like having a blank canvas to work with for you to put your personality out on display, so having your Engagement Session photographed at a beach makes for a great option.
