The Laguna Beach coastline is made up of 30 individual smaller beaches. You have the bigger beaches that are the most known, such as Main Beach, Table Rock, Thousand Steps and others, but one of the smaller beaches that gets a lot of attention is Aliso Beach. The reason Aliso Beach gets so much attention is because it is home to some of the best skimboarding waves around. In fact, it is so world class, that they hold skimboarding championships here, as the surf is the main draw to this beach.

The backdrops here will truly make your photos shine. Aliso Beach has beautifully textured rocks where the waves are always crashing up against and the sunsets and sunrises at this location are second to none. In addition to the rocks, waves and sun, this location has some amazing tide pools when the ocean waters have subsided. If you plan your engagement photo session certain times of the year, this area also becomes a great spot for whale watching and breaches.

Just a suggestion, because this beach is popular with the skim boarders, as well as other photographers, the best time to schedule your session might be for sunrise. The sun will create beautiful photos that you will be sure to love. If you are not a morning person, but want a sunset, weekdays are of course the best plan of action due to the crowds.

If time permits to include an additional location, there is so many areas we can consider. There are of course other beaches such as Treasure Island, Victoria, and Table Rock, all that are all less than a mile from Aliso. Other than beaches, there are other locations fairly close by that we can consider as well since Laguna Beach has so much to offer.
