Red Horse Barn Wedding | John & Jacklyn
Orange County Professional Photographer
As an Orange County Professional Photographer, I just adore the couples we meet, whether it’s to photograph their engagement session, their wedding, various stages of their family life or any combination of those, each one of them are truly great to work with. But perhaps our favorite part is to hear their stories. This is especially true for Jacklyn and John. A truly wonderful couple that we had the pleasure of photographing their wedding at the Red Horse Barn here in Orange County.
Located at the Huntington Central Equestrian Center in Huntington Beach, the Red Horse Barn is a great choice for your ceremony and reception! Surrounded by trees, it offers a rustic décor, giving it a fun, country feel to the venue. We know what you’re thinking… a barn that’s located in a coastal surfing community? That’s right. The Red Horse Barn is home to 10 horses and the surrounding land offers some really fun photo opportunities. It’s no wonder why Jacklyn and John chose this venue; it fits their love of country!
Speaking of Jacklyn and John, what’s the perfect recipe for meeting the love of your life? How about a night out with friends, sippin’ some cold ones and dancing to the best country tunes around? That’s how it went down for Jacklyn and John on the night they met and fell in love! While line dancing with some friends, John introduced himself to Jacklyn and there was an instant connection. And now years later, they celebrated their love in front of family and friends at the Red Horse Barn wedding venue. This rustic barn June wedding was a dreamy and joyous celebration!
Dressed in a detailed floral lace gown, with a long flowing elegant veil, Jacklyn completed her bridal look with a bouquet of pastel pink and blue. Not only was she a stunning bride, but her bride tribe was looking dazzling as well! With baby blue gowns, their get-ups were a perfect contrast to John and his groomsmen’s dark gray attire.
The outdoor ceremony space at Red Horse Barn was the perfect place for these two love birds to say, “I do!” A gorgeous draping arrangement of pink and white florals on the altar as a centerpiece to the ceremony and with a backdrop of lush greenery, as well as a serene and peaceful atmosphere, it couldn’t have been any more perfect. Once the rings were placed, and the vows were sealed with their first kiss, it was time to celebrate!!
All of the details of this rustic farm-style wedding were captured by the team at Three16 Photography.
We would really like to thank Jacklyn and John for allowing Three16 Photography to be part of your special day. We wish you many years of love and happiness.
Check out their love story. We hope you enjoy it, and their photos, as much as we do.
Jacklyn and John’s Love Story
How did you both meet and who liked who first?
We met line dancing at Brandin’ Iron. His friend was talking to one of my girlfriends, when John came up to all of us and we were introduced to each other. We both liked each other right off the bat.
Tell us about your first date. Who was more nervous and what did you guys do?
We went to the Grove in Los Angeles. We watched the movie, “The Martian”, sat around on all the couches in Crate and Barrel, and then had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. John was more nervous. J
What’s the proposal story? Give us all the details and tell us, who cried first?
He took me to an arboretum in Oak Glen and then to a floating dock. He had me read a note and when I turned around afterwards, he was on his knee and asked me to marry him. I cried first.
As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?
For us, we’ve enjoyed planning our life more than the wedding planning. We’ve loved looking for an apartment, buying all our furniture and organizing our first place together.
What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?
Driving out to all the different vendors has been the hardest part.
Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?
An All-Inclusive Event had a great wedding package we couldn’t pass up. For a summer wedding, the location of our venue could not have been in a more perfect place.
Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?
Where does any girl get her inspiration for her wedding day? Pinterest.
Where are you going for the honeymoon and why did you choose that destination?
We are going to Maui for our honeymoon. We are so excited for a getaway after a very long year in our jobs! We chose Maui because John has never been there before.
