Orange County Professional Photographer
One of the best parts of being a professional photographer in Orange County, especially in the wedding industry, is meeting and getting to know all the people you cross paths with. One of the things I love about photographing engagement photo sessions is that the couple is generally more at ease with one another, as well as with the photographer and with their surroundings compared to that of their wedding day. It’s a time for them just to relax, be in love, to be in the moment with each other, and to get used to being in front of a camera. An engagement photo session allows the couple to really put their love for one another on display and I got this feeling in a recent shoot with Jessica and Joseph at Table Rock Beach.
Located in Laguna Beach, Table Rock is one of our favorite beach locations in Orange County. We love what this location brings to your photographs as it has plenty of amazing, natural backdrops. Table Rock Beach offers many coves that we can incorporate into your shoot, as well as all the rock formations, especially the large rock right in the middle of the beach. If we time it right, we can catch waves crashing up against the rock while you are on it. And of course, if we can capture the beauty of a sunset hitting the waters at just the right angle, your photos are sure to pop with beauty. This beach is a bit hidden compared to the larger beaches and although people do come to visit the area, it is usually not enough to hinder your session or be in the background of your photos. So, we have that going for us.
At this particular photo session, you can really feel the love between these two during our time together at the beach. Their session was playful and loving, and they seemed very relaxed along the sandy shoreline.
Many people say that you can read a person by first impressions. But sometimes, if given the chance, the second impression can make a world of difference. This was the case for Jessica and Joseph. What started off as Joseph “full of himself” for Jessica’s taste, changed to he’s big ole teddy bear after getting a chance to know him. Funny how that works out sometimes.
From a second chance meeting to a first date with sushi and sake, to a proposal in Belize, this awesome couple will be standing in front of family and friends on March 21, 2020, at The Red Horse Barn in Huntington Beach to become husband and wife.
First impressions or second chances aside, all of the details of this engagement session at this beach engagement location were captured by the team at Three16 Photography. We would really like to thank Jessica and Joseph for allowing us to be part of your special day. We wish you many years of love and happiness.
Check out their love story. We hope you enjoy it, and their photos, as much as we do.
Jessica and Joseph’s Love Story
How &When did you first meet? Describe your thoughts and how you felt about each other. Was it love at first sight?
Sometimes it takes a second chance to realize the perfect person was right in front of you all along. We met at Joseph’s work where she was having a girl’s night out and he was celebrating a very huge accomplishment. He landed a great career, which was quite a process and a very long road, hence why he was feeling 10 feet tall and very full of himself. Needless to say, this did not make for a good first impression. All she could think of was Joe being just another “typical guy” and she couldn’t leave quick enough. Now fast forward about three months later where fate reunited the two. Jessica went down to meet a good mutual friend who Joseph just so happened to be hanging out with. After making googly eyes and a bit of awkward flirting, we finally took the opportunity to get to know each other and had an amazing night. Since then, we have been inseparable! Through the many adventures we have been on together, the one we are about to set out on will forever be our favorite!
What do you both do for work?
Joseph works for the Westminster Water Department and Jessica works in the Payroll Department for Memorial Care.
GROOM: What was it that made you first start liking your bride-to-be?
The thing that made me start liking my bride-to-be was her receptivity towards who I am as a person. I saw something very special in her eyes and felt it in my heart. I went out on a limb and showed her what a teddy bear I am, and she loved it. I can be my goofy loving self around her. She is such a strong person with an enormous caring heart, that I couldn’t help but be totally enamored with her.
BRIDE: What was it that made you first start liking your groom-to-be?
After the second time meeting him, I could not keep my eyes off Joseph. I knew there was something special about him and I wanted to spend every day with him. It wasn’t long before I knew he was the one. Some of the many things I admired (and continue to admire) were his drive to be his best, his accomplishments, his smile, the way he makes me laugh, and his amazing personality. Joseph is so much fun to be around and I look forward to a lifetime of adventures and memories with him!
Tell us about your first date. What was going through your mind and where did you go and what did you do?
Our first date was actually a double date with a good mutual friend of ours and her boyfriend. We all went to Sushi On Fire in Huntington Beach and enjoyed amazing rolls and ohhh a couple of bottles of sake. We followed dinner with some cocktails and dancing. Jessica was nervous as all get out and Joseph was trying to be himself to see how the cards played out. Sushi quickly became our weekend spot. We always have such a blast!
What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together and what makes your relationship unique?
We are each other’s yin to the other one’s yang. Our strengths have always complimented each other and help us continue to grow. We continue to set goals, expand our dreams and build our life together. We share a love for traveling, enjoy weekend adventures at the lake, going to the movies, spontaneous adventures, time with family, and the obvious…wedding planning! Our relationship may have come later than we both wanted, but it came at the perfect time where we both needed. We may not be each other’s first, but we are so excited to be each other’s lasts!
Tell us about your proposal story! How and Where did it all unfold? Were you surprised and tell us, who cried first?
Our family had planned a trip to Belize. My significant other adores the beach and treasures family togetherness. Being that this is going to be a family trip, I thought it to be the perfect opportunity to propose. I had looked at so many rings and finally landed the one I felt would be perfect for her. When we got to the resort, I gave her the first gift which was a homemade photo album with all the things we had done in the year we’ve been together, after all, the next day would be our 1-year anniversary.
Now because I hadn’t been to the resort, I didn’t exactly have a plan, but when we invited everyone to dinner after a very long trip to the resort and everyone showed up dressed nice and ready, I thought this is the time. We had a lovely dinner and they all knew I was going to propose but didn’t know when. I stood up tapping the glass in my hand and thanked everyone for their love, comfort, and kindness. I then got down on one knee with Jessica frantically repeating omg, omg, omg – lol. I looked into her eyes and said, “Jessica Ann Lynch, I love you with all my heart and soul. I couldn’t imagine anyone I would rather spend the rest of my life with. Will you marry me?” And before I got the word out of my mouth, she kissed me while balling her eyes out and said… “YES!” We spent the rest of the trip on a chartered yacht snorkeling beautiful reefs, eating amazing food, and enjoying the tropical paradise.
What is one piece of advice you have for couples just beginning the wedding planning process? And what have you enjoyed most about planning your wedding?
Pick an all-inclusive venue!!!! This has made our experience soooooo much more enjoyable, less stressful, and a lot easier!
