Orange County Professional Photographer

When I made the decision to become a professional photographer here in Orange County, my goal was to take the best photos I can and provide the best service I can to all these wonderful couples that I have met over the years. Fortunately for my team and I, we have grown beyond Orange County and the list of couples have become endless. One of our more recent couples that we had the honor of photographing their wedding was Jeff and Rachel. Photos of Jeff & Rachel’s The FIFTH Rooftop Restaurant Wedding in Anaheim by Three16 Photography will leave them everlasting memories for years to come.

The original location that Rachel and Jeff chose was the Tustin Ranch Golf Club, but due to restrictions from Covid-19, they had to go with another option. And an amazing location they did choose! Located across the street from Disneyland, The FIFTH Rooftop Restaurant & Bar sits atop the Grand Legacy At The Park Hotel and offers beautiful views of this part of Orange County.

Rachel and Jeff were referred to us by Rachel’s best friend, and Matron of Honor, Ashley, who I met back when we went to high school together and remained friends ever since. Rachel and Jeff are a fun and upbeat couple that were all smiles for most of the ceremony and reception. Rachel wore a beautiful gown from David’s Bridal and her hair and makeup were on point thanks to hairstylist Chase Longo and the makeup talents of Courtney Miller. Meanwhile, Jeff and his groomsmen looked dashing in their suits from the Men’s Wearhouse. And they all came to party, as The FIFTH provided food and music throughout the reception. Cinderella Cakes provided a gorgeous 3-tiered white wedding cake and the photo booth was maintained by Orange Box Photobooth. The entire event was flawlessly executed by Brandi Jane Events Wedding Coordination and all the pretty floral arraignments were done by Saddleback Flower Shop.

All of the details of this rooftop urban wedding were captured by the team at Three16 Photography.

We would really like to thank Rachel and Jeff for allowing us to be part of your special day. We wish you many years of love and happiness.

What started out as a chance meeting at a party, to a friendship, to a surprise marriage proposal while in Utah, Rachel and Jeff have shared a remarkable love and relationship with each other.

Check out their love story. We hope you enjoy it, and their photos, as much as we do.

Rachel and Jeff’s Love Story

How did you both meet and who liked who first?

We first met in 2008 at a Halloween party that my best friend Ashley and I were hosting, I thought Jeff was cute when I first saw him. After many years of both of us being in and out of relationships, we found ourselves hanging out a lot more and getting to know each other. I even told my friend Jessica I would marry Jeff without any hesitation before we were even official. Many years of being unofficial we finally decided to put a label on our friendship that had evolved into much more than that.

Tell us about your first date. Who was more nervous and what did you guys do?

I used to joke to Jeff that we never really had a first date since our friendship evolved into a relationship. He later surprised me with flowers and took me to my favorite restaurant.

What’s the proposal story? Give us all the details and tell us, who cried first?

October 2019, we were preparing for our yearly off-road trip to Moab, Utah. At this time, I had been working two jobs and Jeff was working late, so we both were barely home, and life was just crazy with work and preparing for this vacation. As we are on the long drive to Moab, I was entertaining myself by looking at engagement rings and sometimes I end up showing them to Jeff for no reason other than for him to know what styles I like. Well he ended up “snapping” at me and told me to stop looking at rings. Cue awkward silence for a few hours the rest of the drive. On October 16, 2019, we were getting ready to go on one of our favorite trails, Golden Spike. The views are so beautiful, and I always have to take a photo with Jeff and do the whole typical kissing photo and a non-kissing photo. Well Jeff wanted to take the photo again. I didn’t think anything of it and was just like “umm okay” and neither did our friend Ashley who was taking the photos for us. He then pulled the ring from his pocket and got down on one knee, I cried a lot and only a few people knew because he wanted someone to capture the moment.

I later found out that I had been driving around in the truck with my engagement ring hidden a whole week before we left.

As you approach the wedding day, what have you both enjoyed most about the wedding planning process?

I think the main things we have both enjoyed is cake tasting and the food tasting.

What has been the hardest part about planning your wedding?

Not being able to plan when covid-19 happened and then trying to pick up where I left off once places started to re-open during the pandemic.

Why did you choose your particular wedding and reception venue?

We had always thought it would be cool to get married at The FIFTH overlooking Disneyland since none of our friends or anyone else we knew had gotten married there. Disneyland also holds a lot of memories for us.

Where did you draw some of your inspiration from for your wedding day?

Pinterest, but then I overwhelmed myself and couldn’t decide on colors. They would literally change every day; even on the day that we picked out tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses.

Where are you going for the honeymoon and why did you choose that destination?

Because most places that we would’ve loved to go on our honeymoon still had a lot of restrictions due to covid. We decided to stay somewhat local and go to Avila Beach, CA for a few days, and then spend the rest of the time off being spontaneous and going wherever we want.

One of the things that we lost during the pandemic is togetherness.
