The Yost Theater in Santa Ana is one of Orange County’s largest and oldest venues for weddings and special events. It was built back in 1912 under the name of Auditorium Theater and is located in the Downtown Historic District of Santa Ana. One of the things we love about shooting engagement photography at The Yost is the old-school theater look to it. The old-style signage and marquee that sticks out over the outdoor courtyard brings you back to a time that we can only see in older movies now. This theater will bring to your photos very unique characteristics that you won’t get at the beach or a park.

But probably our favorite part about shooting at The Yost are the alleyways behind and around this venue. The alleys bring that sense of urban living to your photos. What is most unique are the walls that are filled with the most colorful murals you will find anywhere. If you like color, these colors will really pop in your photos. Along with the murals, the walls also have very unique graffiti painted on them. We just love how they photograph.

There is also a really nice courtyard that we can use for your Yost Theater engagement photos. The Yost is part of the same building that is home to The 1912 wedding venue, so we have a second location if you want to do more than just the Yost Theater.

Besides the Yost Theater and The 1912, the Santa Ana Historic District is home to many other wedding venues and/or caterers, such as the Estate on Second, Country Gardens Caterers Facility, the Green Parrot Villa, The Hacienda, 24 Carats and Jay’s Catering, just to name a few.
