Located in the heart of Los Angeles, there are many wonderful locations to stop at for your photo session. The downtown area is made up of three main districts: The Arts District, the Fashion District and Little Tokyo. The backgrounds we will get while walking the Downtown LA area will bring out so much personality and characteristics to your photos that you will be sure to love the outcome. We typically meet our clients at Urth Caffe in the Arts District, so we don’t get lost from one another and then start our session there in the Arts District.

The Arts District has so many amazing features. There is art on the walls of buildings, the sidewalks and down alleyways, all make for some great urban-style and unique photography. As we walk around the city, there will be many older looking warehouses, markets and parking lots that we can incorporate into your shots, not to mention the many of the very tall business buildings that are the true essence of Downtown LA.

Also, in the downtown area is the very popular Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Bradbury Building that we like to include in your session. Other locations to note in this area include: Grand Park, the John Ferraro Building aka the Los Angeles Water & Parks Department, Mark Taper Forum, Pershing Square and a few museums. In addition, there are some wedding venues for you to consider such as the Millwick and SmogShoppe.

Of course, the major drawback of shooting Downtown LA engagement photos are the hordes of people walking around as this is a very crowded city. The days of the week and the times of the day will make a difference in how many people we would have to contend with. Off the beaten path, we should be just fine, but in the main street areas, do expect to have people in the background of your photos as well as on-lookers.
