We have found over the years that maternity photography might just be the most intimate form of photography with the most beautiful moments caught on camera. We know that safety is essential during maternity sessions, and therefore, we make that a top priority. We would not allow a mother-to-be to climb up on a rock formation at the beach, as an example. And because safety for mom and child is at the forefront, we have them pose in ways to keep them in safe positions. We also focus on comfortable seating, gentle posing and support props. We also photograph that’s a pace that respects the mother’s energy level.

Where to do Maternity Photos?
First of all, it depends on you as a person, as well as your wants and don't wants. Do you care if people are in the background or do you want to be more secluded? Are you looking for something traditional, such as a Nature Park or the Beach, or are you looking for something more unique like Mission San Juan Capistrano or Walt Disney Concert Hall, just to name a couple. Maternity locations are similar to Engagement locations. The biggest difference is the focus on the baby and not the ring. And of course, there is the personal touch of having the session at your home.
How much should I spend on Maternity Photos?
Typically, a good range for Maternity Photos is $550 to $850. There are factors that often determine the final price such as are you looking to go elegant or more low key? How many hours do you want the session? Will there be one location or multiple?
How many months or weeks pregnant should you be to take have a Maternity Photoshoot?
Typically, you should consider 7 or 8 months (28 to 38 weeks) for your session. If wait too much longer you run the risk of being much larger than you anticipated, which could leave you uncomfortable, as well as run the risk of an early delivery. Therefore, causing your session to be obsolete. And these photos are not only a keepsake or make your home beautiful, but they are also used as announcements to family, friends or on social media, and if that is the case you want the announcements to go out while you are still pregnant and not after the delivery.
